You are a strong person who handles life well in most ways.

It is just that when life becomes stressful it can make you feel overwhelmed. You wonder how to manage all of life’s stressors and still maintain balance, contentment and time for yourself.

Trauma seems like it is all around us and you wonder how do we live with everything that is going on in this world and not let it take over our thoughts and feelings. You or others, you have conflicts with can be tense and when upset have more difficulty staying calm enough to focus on solutions. It may not be your fault but it sure is upsetting.

You do well in most aspects of life but there are these thoughts that swirl around in your head and sometimes just get stuck there. They make whatever challenge is going on more difficult. They can increase your stress level and pull you down.   

Other times you may find yourself  worrying about something that is happening the next day or in the near future. It is not the helpful kind of thoughts that help you reach a goal. These are the types of  thoughts that take a bad situation and make it worse. They are creating more tension, fear, or negative feelings. 


 When this happens these feelings affect your body. Here are some of the ways your body may respond:

  • Tense muscles

  • Headaches

  • Losing your patience easily

  • Being tired but unable to rest and possibly not getting enough sleep

  • Increased sadness

  • Frustration

  • Lack of energy

  • Lack of focus

  • Distracted

You might not have recognized that the way you are feeling in your body is related to the stressors you are experiencing. 

You may have experienced some or all of these at different times in your life and you wish they would go away and stop bothering you.  So why don’t they?

Our families and educational systems most often do not teach us all we need to know to manage everything we are going through.

Hi! I am Bridgitte Hammaker, and I am here to support you in your growth.

I grew up in Maryland and love living near the water, and having access to Annapolis, Baltimore, and DC.  I am within a few hours of the Atlantic Ocean, the Shenandoah Mountains, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. One of my favorite hobbies is photography and I am looking forward to doing a lot more of it. I love learning by walking while listening to books or podcasts, hiking, biking and the gym.

I was fortunate to be raised by a strong and resilient mother who taught me those skills, supported me always, and encouraged me all along the way. I continued educating myself by earning my Masters Degree in mental health. I have both worked in all levels of the school system (retired) providing consultation and mental health services and continue to manage a private practice as I have for the past 20+ years. I believe that if the things I teach others everyday were available to more people it would have a significant positive impact on people's lives. 

I welcome all people, have a good listening ear, and will customize and direct knowledge to what I am hearing people need. When I am teaching skills I may go off script at times. I will be empathetic, and supportive but will need to be direct at times to be able to share everything I plan to share with you. I am looking forward to you benefiting from these skills as I have seen many others have.

I believe it is important to keep my private practice and group programs small enough to be able to give the attention and support I know people need. I am very passionate about sharing this with you because I want you to have support and encouragement while learning to make these skills a part of your life’s journey. I want you to feel the benefits of leading a resilient and robust full life.

I totally understand and you are not alone my friend.

I know it is very difficult to add anything more to your busy life. You probably have been thinking about creating change in your life but it never feels like you have enough time to pause and focus on you. I am sure it would be even more stressful if you had to travel somewhere to talk with someone and especially difficult to take time away from your family or other responsibilities after work hours. In this program you can work on these things without having to drive to an appointment because everything is virtual. You will not have to worry about your evening plans being interrupted. This is why I have planned the group at 12:30 p.m. ET. You can participate in self-improvement after your lunch or bring a lunch and eat while we meet.

Now you might be saying that you do not take a lunch. You don’t have the time.


That is why I created the Grounded, Free & Happy virtual lunch series just for you. I designed this program for busy people who do not have extra time. That is why we meet for 45 minutes during lunch to minimize the impact on your schedule. I have lived “I don’t have time”, life. So the other commitment I am making to you is to provide copies of our sessions in case you arrive late, have to leave early or miss it. I can not tell you how many people I talk to that say “I work through my lunch”. It is critical that we take care of ourselves and this is one step you can take to reclaim some of your time. I would bet that if you set your mind to it you could block off your calendar once a week during or after your lunch so that you could invest in yourself without significantly impacting your responsibilities at work or in your family life.

It is your turn to start investing in your personal growth and start to design the future you want. Imagine what it would look like if you were able to reclaim some of what made you happy when you were younger as part of your life now. You can take the time to examine some of your core values that lead you to be more closely aligned with your authentic self. Getting caught up in stuck thoughts that increase stress, distraction, and overwhelm takes too much time and creates strong negative feelings that rob you of your joy.

Investing some of your time now can save you time for the rest of your future because you will be more free of those sabotaging thoughts. We only have time for the most important and meaningful things in life and now is the time to break through these limiting thoughts to feel more free.

It is because I have lived the busy life and know what that is like that I have created a flexible program to meet your needs. After our lunch meetings you will have the opportunity to pick through a menu of choices designed to be able to fit in as little or as much time as you have. I have also considered different learning styles that may benefit you. You can practice very little between sessions or you may be able to really dive in and use many of the tools or spend more time experiencing what they can do for you. The good news is that you can do either. You will have your Grounded, Free & Happy Workbook to reflect back on everything we work on. You will have it to refelcet back on forever. If you cannot practice all of the skills we work on you can refer back when you are better able.

All of our journey’s are unique, it takes time, energy, and practice to create the shifts we are looking for. You are ok just as you are and if you want to grow further It requires an investment of your energy. This journey is a life long process. There will be starts and stops, ups and downs. This program gives you helpful skills, support and guidance to start you on the next steps of your journey.

I’ve been there and I am still on the journey. Through the ups and downs, I’ve learned a lot about what is helpful to me and others. I’m eager to share my knowledge with as many people as I can. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • No problem, that is why I am providing a recording of each live training and each Q&A. You can catch up if you are late, have to leave early, or miss it.

  • Included in this program is a private Facebook group so that everyone can learn from each other. You can share successes and ask questions that come up for you. I will post and answer some of the questions in between sessions.

  • I will ask everyone to share their name, where they are from, and what they are most interested in learning in our program in our first session. That will help me tailor the program to your needs. You will never be called on and expected to share if you do not want to. If I ask people to share you can just say, “I pass” when it comes to your turn. This is very normal. Not everyone wants to share and you can learn a lot from listening to others.
